Ticket demand is already huge

The response to the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 ticket ballot has been extraordinary. According to the ICC, more than 15 million ticket applications had been submitted within the first 12 days after registrations opened on 1 October 2026.

Fans from 142 countries had registered, with supporters in the United Kingdom, South Africa, India, the United States and Australia among those leading demand.

One of the most sought-after fixtures is expected to be India against Pakistan in Johannesburg on 10 October 2027. With such strong international interest, fans should not leave their ballot registration until the last minute.

The ICC's application figures reflect demand during the early stages of the ballot and are not a guarantee of ticket availability.

How does the Cricket World Cup 2027 ticket ballot work?

The ICC has introduced a ballot system to give cricket fans around the world a fair opportunity to apply for tickets. It is important to understand that entering the ballot is not the same as buying a ticket.

  • Entry is free: You do not pay anything when submitting your ballot application.
  • It is not first-come, first-served: Applying early does not automatically improve your chances.
  • Apply for multiple matches: You can submit an entry for as many matches as you wish.
  • Up to four tickets per match: You can request up to four tickets for each match and select your preferred ticket category.
  • Random selection: If applications exceed the available tickets for a match, a randomised ballot determines who gets the opportunity to buy.
  • Wait for an email: Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified using the email address supplied during registration.
Remember: Entering the ballot does not guarantee tickets. If your application is successful, the ICC will provide instructions and a specific period in which to complete your purchase.

What will Cricket World Cup 2027 tickets cost?

One of the encouraging aspects of the 2027 tournament is the ICC's focus on making matches accessible to a wide range of supporters.

The ICC has indicated ticket prices ranging from approximately R158 for entry-level tickets to R514 for the highest-priced matches. Prices can vary depending on the match, ticket category and currency exchange rates.

Special pricing considerations have also been announced for selected groups and packages, including families, students, pensioners, local supporters, schools and community cricket clubs. Check the official ticket platform for the latest details and conditions.

These advertised price ranges should not be taken as a guarantee that every match or seating category will be available at those prices.
